Dr. Howard Grossman, MD, is the Medical Director of Midway Specialty Care, a not-for-profit medical practice specializing in primary care, HIV medicine, and LGBTQ health issues. He is a board-certified internist, who had a private practice in Manhattan for nearly three decades. Now, he is an Attending Physician with Holy Cross Hospital and Broward Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale and a Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine of Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Grossman is nationally recognized as a specialist in HIV medicine and LGBTQ health. He studied medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed his residency at Kings County Hospital, one of the largest public hospitals in Brooklyn. It was there where he saw some of the first cases of AIDS in the early 1980s. He is the recipient of AMFAR's Award of Courage. Dr. Grossman was the medical advisor for the patient-oriented website AIDSMeds.com. He served as medical editor for columns in POZ, HX, GMHC's Treatment Issues, and AMFAR's treatment newsletter, among others. He was also the medical advisor for three stagings of Larry Kramer's "The Normal Heart," including the Tony Award-winning production on Broadway.
